Who We Are

Agile Kata is led by John Eisenschmidt, who brings over 25 years of experience delivering business solutions with teams across the globe. John has worked with organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, helping them optimize delivery, reduce costs, and build capabilities that scale.

His technical background spans enterprise and cloud architecture, IT Service Management, Tool Chains including the Atlassian Teamwork Collection (Jira, JSM, Bitbucket, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps), ERP and COTS Applications, and complex integration projects. He has been recognized by both the Project Management and Agile Communities as an expert in delivery of complex projects and large-scale programs.

On the human side, he’s trained extensively in Agile Team Coaching, Somatic Leadership Development, and Organizational Systems work. John holds multiple certifications, including

  • International Coaching Federation – Professional Certified Coach (PCC), PCC Mentor Coach, and Advanced Team Coach (ACTC)
  • Strozzi Institute – Somatic Coach (SISC)
  • Scrum Alliance – Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), one of only ~150 awarded around the world among 800k certified and 4m+ total members
  • Project Management Institute – Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • CRR Global – Organization and Relationship Systems Coach (ORSC) Accredited.

From 2013-2016 he taught Leadership to Project Managers as an Adjunct Faculty member at Georgetown University, and is a Leadership Development Coach for The Global Good Fund and Coach for Democracy.

Depending on client needs, John works solo or scales teams using his network of trusted partners with specialized expertise. The focus is always on delivering results, not scaling a consulting firm.
